The Robert A. and Dorothy Stender Sweet Physics Scholarship awards $2,500 per year for four years. Eligible students must have at least a 90 high school average and standardized test scores of 1100 on the SAT (Critical Reading and Math) or 24 on the ACT test.

have a declared major in any undergraduate program in the Physics Department.

SAT scores of 1100 and/or ACT composite scores of 24 or higher.
While the Sweet Scholarships are primarily intended for incoming freshmen, the Scholarships can also be awarded to current physics students at Buffalo State with an overall grade point average of 3.5/4.0 or higher.
Students who qualify for the Dorothy Sweet Physics Scholarship may also qualify for the Muriel A. Howard Honors Program, making them eligible for an additional $2,500 per year. And, students who have SAT scores of 1200 or higher, or a minimum ACT of 27, can qualify for the Presidential Scholarship, http://www.buffalostate.edu/scholarship/x506.xml, one of the college’s merit-based scholarships. Together, these three scholarships total $6,500 per year for four years...or $26,000 over four years of study!
Only five physics scholarships are available. Students are considered upon admission to the college. There are no additional applications required. Students who qualify will be contacted regarding their award under separate cover, generally in May.
